Yufeng lamasery is one of the 7 lamaseries in Lijiang.In the lamasery there is giant camellia tree known as a "TenThousand-Flower Camellia" in China. After about 500 years it is still a mass of branches and leaves, and is called "the First Tree in the World".

The"King of Camellia" is 3 meters high. The diameter of the stem is 40 centimeters. Originally it was two different camellias which were planted very closely, then the two camellias have gradually grown into one. tt is veT beautifu] in shape. The flowers are in pairs of different species embracing
each other. So it is also called "Embracing Tree" or "Male and-female Tree".

Every at the beginning of of spring, the flowers are ready to burst into bloom and tourists come in big big crowds.You can see people are wondering under the the tree and the flowers are boimcing about over the heads of the tourists. Looked from far place, it is like a colourful cloud falling down and al-
so like an enormous fenormous flaming toch. But looked at a close dis-tanee, it is like a sea of flowers, a world of flowers. such a wonderful scene attacts so many visitors both at home and from abroad.
