Chongqing Hotel Information
As the start of the Three gorges Chongqing has a few good hotels and accommodation options to offer visitors.
There are numerous luxurious hotels, many of which are managed by international hotel chains. Top of the line is the Harbour Plaza Hotel and the Marriott Chongqing. The Holiday Inn is one of the most luxurious hotels in the city.
In the middle range of options, the Renmin Hotel (a tourist attraction in itself) is a good choice. The Chongqing Guesthouse, the Chung King Hotel and the Chongqing Great Hotel are all good choices too. Most of the luxurious hotels here are located near the city's commercial and business areas, with convenient transportation links for the airport and train stations.
Chongqing is, however, short of budget hotels. Although there are abundant Zhaodaisuos (hostels) around the city, most of these are not permitted to accommodate foreign guests. The Shiping Mansion and the Huixianlou Hotel are probably the only places for those looking for a cheap bed.
